Internap expands OpenStack bare metal cloud to Amsterdam, Dallas and Santa Clara data centers
Internap's infrastructure as a service footprint just got a little bit bigger. The company added its AgileSERVER 2.0 OpenStack-based bare metal IaaS offering to its data centers in Amsterdam, Dallas and Santa Clara.
This follows last year's initial launch of AgileServer 2.0 in its Secaucus, New Jersey data center, making the IaaS offering now available in four data centers around the world, although most of that footprint is in the U.S.
The addition of AgileSERVER 2.0 to two U.S. and one European data centers is only the beginning in Internap's rollout. The company plans to deploy the IaaS in Montreal and Singapore later this year, bringing the offering to Canada and beginning to stretch it into the Asia-Pacific market.
AgileSERVER is only one of Internap's cloud offerings. The company also maintains a public cloud IaaS offering, dubbed AgileCLOUD, in its data centers. Through AgileCLOUD, Internap provides customers with not only public cloud, but also managed hosting and colocation services. It's available in the Secaucus, Dallas and Santa Clara facilities.
"This latest expansion of our OpenStack cloud footprint enables our customers to build out high-performance infrastructure environments for their applications on a global scale," said Satish Hemachandran, senior vice president and general manager of cloud and hosting at Internap, in a statement.
Internap has been growing its OpenStack-based IaaS presence over the last few years. With AgileCLOUD and AgileSERVER, the company presents two differentiated options.
