Microsoft has integration on its mind as it rolls out 2016 cloud roadmap

Microsoft unveiled a new cloud integration roadmap designed to provide enterprises and developers with more information on what exactly is going on with several of the company's cloud integration initiatives.

A Business Cloud News article noted the roadmap is the brainchild of Azure CTO Mark Russinovich and is intended to keep customers more up-to-date on integrations between Microsoft cloud offerings, including Azure Stack, BizTalk and Logic Apps. For DevOps professionals using Microsoft to develop and host applications, it should help to develop their own software delivery roadmaps.

A central idea to the integration roadmap appears to be ensuring developers still know what's going on in a process that used to be strictly an on-premises one. Today, it's in the cloud, making it more difficult to track.

For Microsoft, it's an attempt to be even more forthcoming and transparent in its cloud business.

Integration appears to be a key theme for Microsoft as 2016 kicks off. As the BCN article noted, Microsoft will host the Integrate 2016 integration summit later in the year. Expect to hear more about the company integration platform as a service strategy at that time.
